Who is responsible?
Orbit Jump is developed by Gert Odendaal trading as Logic Labs, a sole proprietorship based in Centurion, South Africa. For game support or privacy requests, email gertodendaal@logiclabs.co.za.
When you visit this support website, its hosting service may process technical information such as your IP address, requested pages, and security logs. The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a Google service; see Google’s Privacy Policy. The site itself has no enquiry form, account registration, or advertising trackers. What stays on your device?
- Scores: per-song personal bests, completion progress, streak records, and pending score uploads are saved locally. From version 0.1.47, pending uploads are separated using a hashed Google Play Games player identifier so scores are not reassigned when profiles change.
- Unlocks and style: earned song access, accessories, outfit choices, and a purchase-ownership cache are stored on your device.
- Settings: song preferences, gameplay settings and an adult or restricted ad-age band are saved locally. Google’s consent service also maintains consent information.
- Rhythm diagnostics: the current build writes local run summaries and recent tap timings to help investigate gameplay timing. Run history is limited to the most recent 200 runs, and the latest rhythm report includes up to 256 recent taps. Diagnostic sessions may also save performance and audio-timing reports. These game-generated files are not automatically uploaded to Logic Labs; we receive them only if you share them with us.
There is no Logic Labs gameplay-data server. If Google Play Games authenticates your profile, pending per-song scores can be submitted to Google and higher online scores can be restored. Versions up to 0.1.47 do not cloud-sync outfits or earned progress. From development version 0.1.48, Google Play Games Saved Games can store per-song scores, completion percentages, streak records, distinct song completions, earned song and accessory unlocks, outfit and neon choices, equipped accessories, and an appearance-edit timestamp. These saves are associated with your Play Games profile. The game syncs automatically when signed in and offers Sync progress in Settings; offline changes are retained locally for a later attempt. Local profile copies are separated using a hashed player identifier. Conflicts keep higher records and combine earned rewards; the latest appearance edit is preferred. Purchases are restored separately through Play Billing and are not granted by the cloud save. Ad-age and consent choices, volume, vibration, and rhythm diagnostics are not included in the cloud progress save.
Ads involve Google
The Android build integrates Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. It requests ads from Logic Labs’ AdMob account: an occasional interstitial after a completed fall, and an optional rewarded ad you can choose to watch to continue a run once. Ad requests wait until the ad-age choice is resolved and Google’s consent service allows requests. For returning players this check can happen at startup; first-time players see the age choice at an eligible ad opportunity. Ads are shown only after a completed fall. The first two deaths in an app session are ad-free; later opportunities are limited by deaths and elapsed time. Owning Remove ads turns off interstitials and makes the continue free. This does not disable Google Play Games or purchase processing.
Google’s SDK disclosure lists IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), app and ad interactions, performance diagnostics, and device or account identifiers, including advertising ID where available. Google uses SDK data for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention and encrypts it in transit. Actual handling depends on the SDK version and configuration.
See Google’s Mobile Ads data disclosure and Google’s Privacy Policy. Google may process information outside South Africa; its retention and transfer practices are described in its policy. We do not control Google’s retention periods.
Your choices and deleting data
You can clear Orbit Jump’s app storage in Android settings to remove the current local scores and diagnostic files. This resets local progress and customization. Google Play may restore purchased items and Play Games may restore scores and, from version 0.1.48, cloud-saved progress and customization after sign-in; clearing storage does not delete those Google-held records. The current Android build disables standard Android app backup. Device-to-device migration can still depend on your device manufacturer and Android version. Copies you export or share must be deleted separately. Local preferences, progress and diagnostic files otherwise remain until replaced, cleared or removed with the app.
You can manage or delete your advertising ID through Android’s privacy settings where available. This does not erase Google’s existing records or stop all SDK data processing. Clearing the game’s storage also does not delete information held by Google.
The game stores only an adult or restricted age band locally, not the entered age or a birth date. Under-18 answers and “Prefer not to say” set Google’s child-directed and under-age-of-consent ad-treatment flags. The numeric age is not sent by the game; these derived treatment flags are passed to Google. All ad requests use Google’s general-audience (G) content-rating limit. Restricted treatment requests non-personalised, age-appropriate handling; it does not mean that Google processes no technical data. You can change the answer in Settings. For adult answers, Settings also offers ad-privacy options or a consent check through Google. Purchases and purchase restoration work independently of this answer. There is no Logic Labs player account to delete. These ad choices do not control Play Games authentication or Google Play Billing, which start independently. Parents or guardians can contact us about a child’s information and use Google’s family and account controls for Google services.
How long is information kept?
- Local progress and profile copies: scores, completion records, earned unlocks, customization, hashed profile keys, and queued uploads remain in the app storage until replaced or you clear that storage. Switching Play Games profiles keeps the other profile's local copy so you can return to it; switching or signing out does not delete it. Orbit Jump does not automatically expire these records after inactivity.
- Cloud progress and leaderboards: Orbit Jump does not set an automatic expiry for Google Play Games saves or scores. Saves are updated as you play so progress can be restored on another device. Uninstalling the app, leaving the test, or switching accounts does not request deletion of the Google-held copy. You can request deletion of Orbit Jump game data through Google Play Games. Google controls its deletion processing, backups, and any records it retains for security, legal or other purposes under its own policy; we do not promise immediate removal from all Google systems.
- Purchases: the local ownership cache remains until refreshed or app storage is cleared. Google retains purchase and payment records under its own policies. Deleting game progress does not delete purchase history, cancel ownership, or issue a refund; eligible purchases may be restored again.
- Diagnostics: local run history is limited to the latest 200 runs and the latest rhythm report to 256 taps. Other locally generated diagnostic reports remain until replaced or app storage is cleared. Reports sent to support follow the support retention period below.
- Support: resolved support emails and attachments are deleted after 12 months. Records needed for a legal obligation or unresolved dispute are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
- Tester requests: declined join requests we control are deleted after 90 days. Active tester membership is kept until the person leaves or testing ends, except records needed for a legal obligation or dispute.
To prevent a remaining device copy from restoring deleted cloud progress, disable Orbit Jump automatic sign-in on every device, clear its app storage on those devices, then delete Orbit Jump's game data in Play Games. Repeat for each Play Games profile whose data you want removed. New play after signing in can create a new save. See Google's game-data deletion instructions and Google's retention policy. These periods describe the current implementation and the administrative retention rules for records we manage; they do not add an automatic cloud-deletion service.
Closed-test signup
Tester access is managed through our Logic Labs Testers Google Group, shared by all Logic Labs games. When you ask to join, Google processes your Google-account membership information. Logic Labs group owners and managers use your email address, display name and request details to approve membership and manage test access. The member list is restricted to owners and managers; conversations are restricted to members. If you post a message, other group members may see your profile and message details.
The website does not separately collect or store a signup-email list. Joining is for testing access, not consent to marketing. Google Play separately processes your test opt-in. You can leave the group and opt out of the Play test at any time; leaving the group removes eligibility for future test access. We keep active membership information until you leave or testing ends, and delete declined join requests we control after 90 days. Contact us to request removal of membership information or messages we manage. Leaving a group does not automatically erase messages already posted. Records required for a legal obligation or dispute may be kept longer for that purpose. Google-held records are subject to Google’s privacy controls and retention practices.
Google Play Games and purchases
Google Play Games starts automatically when the Android game opens, independently of ad consent, and may sign you in using your Google Play Games settings or prompt you to create or select a profile. When authenticated, the game sends per-song scores associated with your Play Games profile to Google and can retrieve your best scores. Leaderboard visibility follows your Google profile and Play Games settings. You can play without signing in. Google’s Play Games SDK also processes gamer identity (such as gamertag and avatar), analytics and diagnostics for its service and SDK improvements. See Google’s Play Games data disclosure. The game reads your Play Games player identifier and display name to show the active profile and keep pending score uploads associated with that profile. The display name is shown in Settings; the locally saved queue uses a hash of the player identifier. These queues remain until cleared with app storage. Account switching happens in Google settings; the game provides instructions and refreshes the profile when you return. Your Play Store purchase account can differ from your Play Games profile. Manage automatic sign-in and profile visibility through your Google Play Games settings.
Optional one-time purchases use Google Play Billing. Google handles checkout and payment details; Logic Labs does not receive your card number. The game receives product identifiers, purchase tokens and purchase status to acknowledge transactions, grant items, and restore ownership. Billing connects at startup and checks existing purchases automatically, including when the app resumes. An ownership cache is saved locally. Google may also provide transaction information to the developer through Play Console for purchase support and accounting. There is no independent Logic Labs purchase-verification server in the current build.
Manage your Play Games profile, game data and purchase history through Google’s account and Play settings. To delete online scores or cloud progress without the local copy being uploaded again, first disable automatic sign-in for Orbit Jump on every device you use, clear the game’s local storage on those devices, and then delete Orbit Jump’s game data in Play Games. New play after signing in can create new scores. Removing local game data does not cancel or refund a purchase. See Google’s Privacy Policy for its handling of account and transaction information.
Support messages and privacy requests
If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to send, such as device details, screenshots, or diagnostic files. We use them to respond and investigate the issue. Email providers also handle these messages. We delete resolved support emails and attachments after 12 months. If records are needed for a legal obligation or an unresolved dispute, we retain the relevant records only for that purpose and delete them when no longer needed. These are administrative retention periods, not an automatic deletion feature inside the game.
Contact gertodendaal@logiclabs.co.za to ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you sent us. We may need to verify the request and retain records where legally required. Requests about Google-held information are handled through Google’s privacy controls. You can also raise a concern with South Africa’s Information Regulator or with the data protection authority where you live.
Security and policy updates
Google’s ads and Play Games services document encryption in transit. Local game data is kept in the app’s device storage; access to support records and the tester member list is limited to people managing support and testing. No system can guarantee absolute security. Google and our hosting and email providers may process data outside South Africa under their own service and privacy arrangements.
We will update this policy when the game’s data practices change, including before enabling production ads or adding services that collect additional information. The date above identifies the latest revision. For questions or deletion requests, use the privacy contact listed above.
